Timeline:

• Submissions will be open from April 1, 2024 at 12:00am CST to May 30, 2024 at 11:59pm CST.

• Submissions will be reviewed bi-weekly/every two weeks and will be declined or longlisted at that time to alleviate wait times.

• Winners will be announced by June 30, 2024.

• All three will be published in the Summer 2024 (July 2024) issue along with their accompanying interviews.

Guidelines:

• Fiction only.

• 1,000-5,000 word limit.

• Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1-inch margins, and 1.5 line spacing is preferred.

• The work must not have been previously published.

• Simultaneous submissions are accepted (and encouraged!), but please withdraw the work if the story has been accepted elsewhere. 

• English works only, no translations.

• Please submit your manuscript in .doc or .docx format.

• These will be blind submissions. Please do not include your name, email, address, or any identifying characteristics on the manuscript itself. All work is considered by two judges.

• Only one submission per person.

• The submission fee is $10.00 USD. 

• If for any reason you would like to withdraw your work before it has been considered, a refund will be given. 

Please format your subject line as "Writing Contest - "Title of Work"

What Will Not Be Accepted:

1. No use of slurs or derogatory phrases.

2. No work that promotes or glorifies suicide, drug use, or contains excessive and unnecessary depictions of gore.

3. If your work contains references or implications of suicide, self-harm, or assault, please include a warning at the beginning of your submission.

4. Livina Press accepts everyone and will not tolerate hate towards any person or group based on race, religion, national origin, sex, handicap and family status.

This Contest is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry.
